Originally released in 1977, the LD-1000's dramatically flared heel was created to support long-distance runners. However, it was recalled shortly after due to safety concerns. Phil Knight expected backlash for the recall, but instead he received gratitude from devout runners and loyal customers. This Black and Sail edition combines shaggy suede and airy textiles with Nike's iconic Waffle sole.
